Kavali is a city of historical importance which is situated in S.P.S. Nellore district on the east cost of India of Andhra Pradesh. Kavali in telugu means patrol. The town got this name in 15th century when king Harihara rayulu Udayagiri Raja stationed his army at this town.

Kavali’s position on the Grand Trunk road and the east cost railway track, which connect Cheanni and Kolkata along the east cost, helped it’s growth as a city. Kavali is well known for its whole sale cloth business in Costal Andhra Pradesh.

Kavali is very near to sea shore. Ramayapatnam, which is 14 km from Kavali has a scenic lighthouse and is a nice place to visit.
